  1. Back up your data.

Backing up your data will save you a lot of time, money and energy in case something happens with your electronic device. Simple data backup will create a duplicate copy of all your important information so that if a device is lost, stolen, or broken, you don't lose your important information. You can create a backup on a separate device, such as an external hard drive, or cloud service (Google Storage; Dropbox) so that you can easily recover your information when the original device becomes compromised.

  1. Anti-malware protection is a must.

Make sure you have antivirus installed and running on your computer as well, as the Ad Blocker. It will help to prevent you from having viruses and other malware on your device. Learn how to improve your business' network security.

Operating system updates are very important for every user and people often tend to forget about updating their operating systems. The updates are vital for your security, as they contain critical security patches that will defend your computer from any possible threats. Failing to install the updates means your computer is at risk.

  1. Don’t forget to turn off your computer.

Every time when you are not using your computer, don’t forget to press the power off button. This simple step can save you from any unexpected rogue attacks. "Leaving your computer connected to the Internet when it’s not in use gives scammers 24/7 access to install malware and commit cybercrimes. To be safe, turn off your computer when it’s not in use," suggests CSID.
